This is a relaxing and meditative class that combines the deep stretching of yin yoga with the meditative and renewing aspects of restorative yoga. Restorative yoga is a gentle, slow, still style of yoga that involves long, passive holds. Yogis are often supported by props to enhance or deepen their experience and achieve a state of total relaxation and release. (Participants are encouraged to bring their own bolster to this yoga class) Restorative yoga helps balance the mind and body, relieve tension and anxiety, improve the immune system, stretch deep fascia, increase flexibility, and pave the way for meditation. (We ask people to bring their own mat and bolster for class.)
Yin yoga is a quiet, meditative practice with long, deep holding of passive poses. Using mindful muscle relaxation, yin postures target the connective tissue nourishing joints, ligaments, and fascia promoting the healthy flow of chi (energy). The Yin practice is a wonderful compliment to more vigorous yoga practices or activities such as running, cycling, and hiking. The practice is suitable and encouraged for all levels of practitioners. This no contact class offers variations of moves and exercises throughout the class which makes it ideal for any fitness level. A small portion of the class will include mat work where abs, arms and glutes will be targeted to strengthen your cardio kickboxing skills, making you even stronger! Join in the fun and come ready to sweat!
A one-hour fusion fitness class that combines both cardio and strength exercises while being low-impact and adaptable for all fitness levels.
